Pen and Ink Art : MAMMARY II

MAMMARY, referring to the breast and more profoundly the mammary glands that it houses, is a visual ode to a pertinent source of nutrition for children as well as a strong symbol of feminine strength and in some cases, revolution.

Lines are my favourite weapon as art is concerned and its quite visible on the face of my subject. She's graceful, peaceful and proud of her being. The delicate lines further illustrate the striking feature , especially the lips with the dip blacklines and dots with metallic markers.

Here, we see an array of swirls and lines that take the shape of breasts. We could call this an inception - each layer of breast contains a breast with intricate tissues represented by delicate lines brought to life with the aid of fine stabilo pens.

Fluidity seems to be her strongest feature, with the understated, embelished hips ; the curved , elongated neck ; arched back with illustrated spine (oil pastels) ; the elegant curve in the legs ; the geometric afro crown ; and ofcourse, the carefree hand gesture that makes it all natural.
